When I first saw she had named one of her candles “Cake”, I was expecting a sweet vanilla cupcake. Apparently I am not hip and cake has a whole other meaning…which explains the juicy peach tones in this candle. I love anything that mixes sweet and juicy with woodsy or earthy; Sandalwood being my fav. This scent is right up my alley. Dream is pistachio, coconut and amaretto cream. It’s a subtle scent but creamy is the best way to describe it; the amaretto is probably the strongest tones. Dream is a good one if you don’t like your home to be super fragrant. It reminds me of something else that I can’t quite put my finger on.

I can’t say much for the other two scents but Tryst is perfect if you love fruity, tropical scents. I am told that Leather genuinely smells like Leather; it’s raspberry tones make me super curious!

The leaves are changing, the days are shorter and the pumpkins are spiced. It’s candle season y’all. Fall scents are my absolute favourite. Warm and cozy, a little sweet; a good fall candle instantly makes any space more inviting. Leaves is apple cider, juicy pear and spice. This is legit the epitome of fall to me. Delicious apple and pear, not overly sweet and the perfect amount of spice. Guaranteed the fool everyone into thinking you have an apple crisp in the oven. Memory Lane is a little sweeter with pumpkin spice and sweet vanilla and marshmallow. Harvest is an essential oil blend with sweet orange, bergamot, black pepper and cinnamon leaf; I absolutely love a good blend of citrus and spice. Houseplants 101: Snake Plants

Sansevieria, also known as snake plants and mother in law’s tongue, is easily one of my all time favourite plants to have around my home for many many reasons.

I just want to note that these snake plants were one plant that I split up into multiple pots so they are smaller but will eventually fill out their pots.

Snake plants have succulent leaves, which means they maintain water a lot longer than other plants. They can be watered less frequently, which makes them very easy to care for. They can tolerant low light situations, but in these circumstances they will grow a lot slower than if they are in a brightly lit room. They do not like direct light, this can burn the leaves. They can with stand a great deal of neglect which makes them perfect for anyone who has a hard time keeping plants alive.

Snake plants are also perfect for in small spaces because they stand straight up and there for take up a lot less room than something that leafy foliage or vines. They come in so many gorgeous variation of foliage colours and add such a beautiful touch of greenery to all types of home decor. You can also get “dwarf” variations which are awesome for smaller pots on counter tops.

If all these reasons aren’t convincing you to bring home a snake plant, they are also among the best plants for purifying your air of toxins and they release excess oxygen at night which helps you sleep better.
